Forgiveness & Overlooking

Allah Paak Jalla Shanahu says in Surah Rahman (55), Verse: 13
“Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinn and men) deny? (13)?”

The greatest blessing out of all the blessings of Allah Paak Jallashanahu is the feeling of shame upon committing a sin. When a person commits a sin, feels ashamed…. Feels ashamed and repents, then Allah Paak Jallashanahu forgives. For example, when Hazrat Adam (Alaiyhi’salaam) supplicated (did du’a),

"Our Lord! We have wronged ourselves. If You forgive us not, and bestow not upon us Your Mercy, we shall certainly be of the losers." (Surah 7 Al-A’raaf, verse 23)
Allah Paak Jallashanahu accepted Hazrat Adam (Alaiyhi’salaam)’s supplication (du’a) and forgave Him.

When Hazrat Yunus (Alaiyhi’salaam) was captured inside the stomach of the fish, He supplicated (made du’a),

“None has the right to be worshipped but You (O Allah)], Glorified (and Exalted) are You [above all that (evil) they associate with You]. Truly, I have been of the wrong-doers.” (Surah 21 Al-Anbiya, verse 87)

Allah Paak Jalla Shanahu accepted Hazrat Yunus (Alaiyhi’ salaam)’s supplication and forgave him.

Allah Paak Jalla Shanahu forgives and likes forgiveness. Allah Paak Jalla Shanahu dislikes it when a person commits a sin, but when the person feels ashamed upon the sin he has committed and seeks forgiveness, then believe it, Allah Paak Jalla Shanahu forgives. Allah Paak Jalla Shanahu, being powerful over all things, forgives, despite of being Qahaar and Jabbaar (Dominant and compelling).

We are just human, yet we do not forgive other humans. We do not forgive other people even if they seek forgiveness, even when they say ‘sorry’. We display pride and arrogance, our ego feels a boost, feels at peace by insulting others, even though Allah Paak Jalla Shanahu has commanded:

“Let them pardon and forgive. Do you not love that Allah should forgive you? And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” (Surah 24 Al-Noor, verse 22)“But forgive and overlook, till Allah brings His Command.” (Surah 2 Al-Baqara, verse: 109)

To forgive the cruelty and bad deeds of someone and refraining from revenge is called forgiving and overlooking. The lowest level of forgiveness is that you forgive another person whether you like it or not, but the

highest level is that you forgive with happiness in your heart and if it is possible, also do some good (Ahsaan) to the one you forgive.

Hazrat Ans Bin Malik (R.A.) narrates that Aaqa Kareem (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam) said, “The entire creation is Allah Paak Jallashanahu’s family, that’s why the most beloved to Allah Paak Jallashanahu is the person who is good to Allah Paak Jallashanahu’s creation and treats it well”.   (Al-Bayhaqi)

Aaqa Kareem (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam) commands us in a Hadith-e-Mubaarika (Prophetic Hadith), “A Muslim is not allowed to be upset with another Muslim for more than three days”. What kind of Muslims are we? We are false declarers of being lovers of Aaqa Kareem (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam). Yes, we are false pretenders......... because Aaqa Kareem (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam) forgave all his enemies on the day of victory of Makkah (fath-e-Makkah). Keep in mind the fact that they were all non-Muslims. Didn’t Aaqa Kareem (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam) have the power to take revenge on that day? But despite of having the power and authority, Aaqa Kareem (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam) preferred to forgive others (Preferred to forgive his enemies).
Why..................................................?

Allah Paak Jallashanahu says in Surah A’raaf, verse 199 to forgive non-Muslims,

“Show forgiveness, enjoin what is good, and turn away from the foolish (i.e. don't punish them)”. (199)

Hazrat Abdullah Bin Ummar Bin Aadh (R.A.) narrates that, “Allah Paak Jallashanahu has mercy on those who have mercy. Have mercy on people on the earth, the One above all (Who is in the skies) will have mercy upon you.”
(Sunan Abu Dawud)

Allah Paak Jalla Shanahu’s pious people always do what Allah Paak Jalla Shanahu likes. They always give the willingness of Allah Paak Jalla Shanahu their first preference. Aaqa Kareem (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam) always liked to forgive others during his (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam) lifetime,

Why? .............. Because Allah Paak Jalla Shanahu likes to forgive that’s why Aaqa Kareem (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam) liked to forgive others whether Muslims or non-Muslims during his lifetime.

Aaqa Kareem (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam) said that, “Whoever forgives the fault of a Muslim, Allah Paak Jalla Shanahu will forgive his faults on the day of Judgement”. (Allah Paak Jalla Shanahu will forgive his sins on the day of Judgement.)

If you want to do friendship with Allah Paak Jalla Shanahu then you will have to adopt the habit of forgiving other people.

Today....................... You have the choice.

On the day of Judgement......................The choice will be (that of) Allah Paak Jalla Shanahu’s.

You will be seekers of forgiveness for your faults and sins. If Allah Paak Jallashanahu asks you on the day of judgement that you had a choice (whilst living) in the world, (yet) you did not like to forgive other people, you did not like forgiveness for others, but you like it for yourself. Why.....................................................................................?

Then what will be your reply?

Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas (R.A.) narrates that, “When a person forgives the faults of someone, in return Allah Paak Jallashanahu grants him (with) an increase in respect because of that forgiveness”.

My brothers, let’s forgive the faults and mistakes of each other for the sake of Allah Paak Jalla Shanahu because you’ll leave everything in this world including worldly knowledge, fame, wealth, prosperity, properties, relatives, friends and family; these will all remain in this world. You won’t take these with you. You have to face Allah Paak Jalla Shanahu alone. So the most important thing is that Allah Paak Jallashanahu becomes pleased with you while living in this world.

Today, Muslims are divided into sects. They are not willing to forgive each other. Their hearts are full of anger, jealousy, arrogance and hatred. My brothers, let’s become one and unite for the sake of Allah Paak Jallashanahu and forgive each other. Let’s all come together and work for Deen-e-Mustafa (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam).

Nowadays there is no peace in hearts. People search for peace of heart. For them it is the message of this Darwesh that forgive the ones you hate or have enmity for the sake of Allah Paak Jalla Shanahu, even if this forgiveness is only from your side. If you do this with a true heart, then you will feel such peace, relaxation and happiness in your heart which you would not have felt until today. It is very difficult to explain these things in words. These are practical things. One who does it, he has taken his first step towards Allah Paak Jalla Shanahu today. Congratulations to the one who has taken the first step. Allah Paak Jallashanahu says, “The one who takes one step towards me, I will take ten steps towards him................. and Allah Paak Jallashanahu’s step is not like our step, half a meter long. We are talking about Allah Paak Jalla Shanahu who is unlimited, so His step will also be unlimited. Thus Allah Paak Jalla Shanahu’s first step exceeds the heart, crosses the heart, passes through the heart and changes the universe of the heart.

Think……….. Do this experiment today. Forgive someone today and feel the peace and pleasure in your heart.
Thank You.
